Born in the "Bread Basket" of California's San Joaquin Valley, there was always an appreciation of fresh produce and home cooking. While working in the entertainment business in Los Angeles, I came across a book written by M.F.K. Fisher called "The Gastronomical Me" which opened my mind to the idea of how good food with others makes for heightened life experiences.

I traveled to France and Italy which absolutely turned my head around about the meaning of hospitality. After managing Off Vine restaurant in Hollywood for 10 years I decided to mix it up and move to Portland OR. I knew there was a rich culinary tradition there and the scene in Portland was popping! I gave up the endless days of sunshine and bought sweaters and an umbrella and headed to the Pacific Northwest. I managed Artbar Bistro then Mint/820 Lounge. Unexpectedly, there was a move to Nashville Tennessee that was touted as the "It" city. There I managed Mad Donna's in hipstery East Nashville and got to know real southern hospitality. But being a beach bum at heart, I had it in my mind to manage a place near the ocean in Southern California and landed at Taste in the Palisades for two years before succumbing to the charms of the eastside where I now have the pleasure of managing All'Acqua.
