Adria Tennor Blotta
....started in the restaurant business 24 years ago serving root beer floats at A&W and running the drive-thru at McDonald’s in the suburbs of Baltimore. Then she found herself in NYC, taking reservations, then coats, then cocktail and finally dinner orders at The River Cafe under the Brooklyn Bridge. After stays at other New York stand-bys, life brought her to Los Angeles where she worked at first for Fred Eric at the late but great VIDA Restaurant. From there she did stints at Campanile Restaurant (where she met her partner and husband, Claudio Blotta) and AOC. She also works as an actress and a writer on stage and on screen.
In 2009 she and Claudio opened barbrix restaurant and wine bar with chef Don Dickman. barbrix was voted one of LA Magazine’s Top Ten Best New Restaurants of 2009 as well as The Best Wine Bar in LA (also by LA Magazine.) Then the couple partnered with Daniel Mattern and Roxana Jullapat and opened Cooks County Restaurant which was voted LA’s Best New Restaurant of 2012 by LA Magazine.
